Magna Global IT is building a global Data Protection & Recovery service to ensure compliant, reliable, and recoverable workloads across onpremises and cloud environments.
The System Engineer – Data Protection & Recovery plays a key role in operating and evolving this service, with CommVault / Veeam as the central backup and recovery solution. The role combines daily operational responsibility, stakeholder engagement, and the implementation of new divisional backup use cases in a hybrid environment leveraging on premises infrastructure and Microsoft Azure.
Major Responsibilities
Implement & Support backup infrastructure for new rollout projects
Operate and monitor backup and recovery jobs
Perform daily backup compliance checks
Creation of disaster event playbook and periodic testing
Analyze and remediate backup failures at resource, OS, or integration level
Produce operational and compliance reports for business stakeholder
Implement, Maintain, and support Azure Cloud services for the solution
Respond to technical issues in a professional and timely manner
Work closely with customer to implement and/or consult requested solutions
Work closely with IT Security and Governance teams to ensure data protection and compliance

Skills and Competencies
Positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering quality work.
Deep Knowledge and proofen experience operating CommVault / Veeam or comparable enterprise backup solutions
Deep Knowledge of backup and recovery concepts
Deep Knowledge of troubleshooting backup issues on Windows & Linux operating systems, as well as restore procedures in recovery events
Deep Knowledge on integration methods of virtual, physical, AS400, and storage workloads
Understand Microsoft Azure Cloud services for storage, computing, and network
Knowledge about basic core infrastructure services and protocols, including DNS, SMTP, DHCP, and NTP.
Familiarity with Powershell, Bash, Terraform, Github and other/similar (scripting/automation)
Effective communication skills (written and verbal) to properly articulate complicated infrastructure reports to management and other IT development partners.
Able to communicate in English Language (listening, writing, speaking)
Knowledge and Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or relevant field
CommVault trainings and certifications
Microsoft Azure fundamentals or associate-level certifications
Microsoft Windows Server or Linux certifications
