Key ResponsibilitiesInfection Control & Compliance
- Enforce and monitor strict hospital infection control protocols, including proper use of PPE and disinfectants.
- Oversee biomedical waste segregation to prevent cross-contamination and biohazards.
- Ensure the facility passes regular health audits and adheres to strict medical quality standards. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Daily Operations & Supervision
- Supervise daily cleaning operations in patient rooms, ICUs, OPDs, nursing stations, and public areas.
- Coordinate rapid turnaround times for patient discharges and admissions.
- Conduct routine floor rounds and facility inspections to guarantee cleanliness and hygiene standards are met
Staff Management & Training
- Hire, train, and evaluate housekeeping attendants and supervisors.
- Manage shift scheduling and duty rosters to ensure optimal coverage across all departments.
- Train staff on chemical handling, hand hygiene, and safety protocols. [1, 2]
Inventory & Budget Control
- Monitor and manage the departmental budget for cleaning materials, machines, and protective equipment.
- Maintain stock levels and ensure the proper storage and usage of cleaning supplies.
- Order new equipment and supplies while minimizing waste. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Cross-Departmental Coordination
- Collaborate with nursing supervisors, ward in-charges, and maintenance teams.
- Address cleanliness-related complaints or requests from patients and staff promptly.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 5+ years in housekeeping management, ideally in a healthcare or hospital setting.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of commercial cleaning techniques, EVS (Environmental Services), and infection control.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, conflict resolution, and organizational abilities
