Key Responsibilities
- Set up VTL machines, including tooling, fixtures, and workpiece alignment.
- Operate VTL machines to perform turning, facing, boring, grooving, drilling, and threading operations.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and process sheets.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, feeds, and speeds.
- Set machine parameters and make offset adjustments to achieve required dimensions.
- Inspect machined components using precision measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators.
- Monitor machining operations to ensure quality and productivity.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary corrections.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure equipment is in good working condition.
- Maintain production and inspection records.
- Follow safety procedures and quality standards.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of VTL machine setup and operation.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, machining parameters, and metal-cutting processes.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.
- Basic understanding of CNC programming and machine offsets (for CNC VTLs).
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Qualifications
- ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Machinist, Turner, or related trade.
- Experience operating and setting VTL machines.
- Knowledge of machining large components in heavy engineering environments.
Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹26,000.00 per month
