Job Summary
The Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and supporting financial operations within the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Management
- Maintain daily accounts, ledgers, and journals
- Record all receipts, payments, and financial transactions
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
2. Billing & Revenue
- Monitor patient billing and collections
- Verify insurance claims and reimbursements
- Ensure accurate recording of hospital income
3. Expense & Budget Control
- Track hospital expenditures and ensure budget compliance
- Process vendor payments and staff reimbursements
- Assist in budget preparation and financial planning
4. Compliance & Auditing
- Ensure compliance with government financial rules and hospital policies
- Prepare documents for internal and external audits
- Maintain proper documentation for transparency and accountability
5. Payroll Management
- Assist in salary processing and deductions
- Maintain employee financial records
- Coordinate with HR for payroll updates
6. Reporting
- Generate financial reports for management review
- Provide insights on cost control and efficiency
- Assist in financial decision-making
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) / Accounting / Finance
- Preferred: M.Com / CA Inter / MBA (Finance)
- Knowledge of government accounting systems is an advantage
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and taxation
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Tally, ERP systems)
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and organizational abilities
Experience
- 1–5 years of experience in accounting (hospital/healthcare experience preferred)
- Freshers may be considered for junior roles
Working Conditions

- Occasional overtime during audits or financial closing
