Position: Paravet / Veterinary Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, responsible, and skilled Paravet to support veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to animals. The Paravet will assist with clinical procedures, animal handling, patient monitoring, laboratory work, medication administration, hospital hygiene, and day-to-day veterinary operations.
The ideal candidate should possess strong practical knowledge of animal care, demonstrate excellent handling skills, and be capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced veterinary hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Veterinary Doctors during consultations, examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
- Safely restrain and handle animals during examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
- Monitor hospitalized patients and promptly report any changes in their condition to the attending veterinarian.
- Administer medications, injections, fluids, and prescribed treatments under veterinary supervision and according to hospital protocols.
- Assist with pre-operative and post-operative patient care.
- Prepare surgical instruments, equipment, treatment areas, and operation theatres as required.
- Maintain proper hygiene, sanitation, and infection-control standards throughout the hospital.
- Collect and properly handle blood, urine, stool, and other clinical samples for diagnostic testing.
- Assist with basic laboratory procedures and maintain accurate records of test results.
- Monitor vital parameters such as temperature, pulse, respiration, SpO₂, and other relevant clinical observations.
- Maintain accurate patient records, treatment sheets, medication records, and hospitalization charts.
- Ensure proper feeding, grooming, cleaning, and general welfare of hospitalized animals.
- Handle emergency cases promptly and assist the veterinary team during critical situations.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of medical equipment and clinical areas.
- Ensure appropriate storage, labeling, and handling of medicines, medical supplies, and consumables.
- Communicate professionally with pet owners regarding routine instructions provided by the veterinarian.
- Assist with inventory management and inform the concerned authority about shortages or damaged supplies.
- Follow all hospital policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and professional standards.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding patient information, hospital records, business information, and other sensitive organizational data.
- Perform any other clinical or operational duties assigned by the Veterinary Doctor or Management.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/Certificate in Veterinary Science, Animal Health, Veterinary Assistant training, or an equivalent qualification.
- Practical experience in a veterinary hospital, clinic, animal shelter, or similar healthcare environment will be preferred.
- Basic knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, common diseases, medications, and clinical procedures.
- Knowledge of safe animal handling and restraint techniques.

The Paravet is expected to maintain high standards of patient care, hygiene, clinical assistance, documentation, discipline, and professional conduct, while contributing positively to the overall functioning and reputation of the veterinary hospital.
Note: The Paravet shall perform clinical activities within the scope permitted by applicable laws, regulations, professional standards, and under the supervision or direction of a qualified Veterinary Doctor.
Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
