Job Summary
The School Electrician is responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing the school's electrical systems and equipment to ensure a safe, reliable, and efficient learning environment. The Electrician ensures compliance with electrical safety standards and responds promptly to maintenance needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, switches, sockets, and distribution boards.
- Inspect and maintain lighting systems, ceiling fans, exhaust fans, and electrical appliances.
- Perform preventive maintenance of electrical systems to minimize breakdowns.
- Maintain electrical panels, circuit breakers, and earthing systems.
- Ensure the proper functioning of generators, UPS systems, inverters, and backup power systems.
- Assist in the maintenance of fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and other electrical safety equipment.
- Diagnose electrical faults and carry out timely repairs.
- Maintain records of maintenance, inspections, repairs, and electrical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations and school safety policies.
- Coordinate with external contractors for major electrical installations or repairs.
- Monitor electricity consumption and recommend energy-saving measures.
- Respond promptly to emergency electrical failures.
- Ensure safe handling and storage of electrical tools and equipment.
- Support school events by ensuring electrical arrangements are safe and operational.
Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience as an Electrician, preferably in a school, educational institution, commercial building, or similar facility.
- Experience with generators, UPS systems, electrical panels, and building maintenance is preferred.
- May be required to work after school hours, on weekends, or during holidays for maintenance work or emergency repairs.
- Must use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety procedures.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
