Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cath Lab Technician to assist cardiologists and healthcare teams during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. The candidate will be responsible for preparing patients, operating cath lab equipment, maintaining sterile techniques, and ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the cardiac catheterisation laboratory before procedures.
- Assist physicians during angiograms, angioplasties, stent placements, pacemaker insertions, and other cardiac procedures.
- Operate imaging and monitoring equipment, including ECG, haemodynamic monitors, and contrast injectors.
- Monitor patient vital signs during procedures and report abnormalities immediately.
- Ensure proper sterilisation and infection control practices.
- Prepare patients by explaining procedures and positioning them appropriately.
- Maintain accurate patient records and procedure documentation.
- Handle emergency situations efficiently during cardiac interventions.
- Coordinate with nurses, cardiologists, and other healthcare staff for smooth workflow.
- Maintain inventory and ensure availability of cath lab supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Cardiac Technology, Radiology, or Allied Health Sciences.
- Certification in Cath Lab Technology preferred.
- Minimum [1–3] years of experience in a Cath Lab setting preferred.
- Knowledge of cardiac procedures and emergency protocols.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts and emergency on-call duties.
