JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a mature, seasoned Physical Education Director & Academy Coordinator to lead our sports department and elite academies. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee the entire PE department and head coaches, direct talent-driven admissions, manage visiting professional athletes, and bridge CBSE and Cambridge (CAIE) physical education frameworks. The ideal candidate will inspire student participation at all levels, cultivate a culture of elite athletic competition, and maximize campus facility potential to build a regional flagship sports program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leadership & Team Management: Provide mature strategic leadership to the entire PE department, head coaches (Badminton, Basketball, Football, Pickleball & Tennis), and support staff while managing conflict and enforcing high ethical standards.
- Curriculum Integration: Design and execute an integrated physical education curriculum that meets both CBSE and Cambridge standards.
- Academy & Admissions Growth: Drive sports academy admissions strategy, conduct talent assessments, lead parent trials, and market elite sports pathways to boost enrollment.
- Pro-Player & External Elite Integration: Manage incoming professional players and visiting athlete-mentors, coordinating their schedules, training protocols, accommodation, and interaction with school programs.
- Academy Operations: Direct professional, after-school and weekend sports academies, ensuring maximum utilization of campus facilities and driving high-performance athlete development.
- Competitions & Partnerships: Coordinate participation in district, national, and international tournaments while building partnerships with regional sports federations in Coimbatore.
- Facility & Safety Management: Oversee sports infrastructure maintenance, equipment procurement, risk management, first-aid compliance, and student welfare across all sports activities.
QUALIFICATION CRITERIA:
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive sports leadership experience within premier international schools and specialized sports academies.
- Mandatory hands-on experience managing sports programs for both Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) and CBSE boards.
- Must have Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed / M.P.Ed) or Sports Management; NIS Diploma is highly preferred.
- Mature professional capable of uniting head coaches, managing parent expectations, and collaborating seamlessly with school management.
- Proven track record of running sports admissions campaigns and integrating external professional athletes or elite guest coaches into an academic ecosystem.
- The ideal candidate must be able to join in a month's time.
- Strong command of English; working knowledge of Tamil is advantageous for managing local staff and regional athletic bodies in Coimbatore.
