What You'll Do (and Grow Into)
1. Campus & Talent Outreach
- Reach out to colleges, TPOs, and student clubs to bring them into our hackathons and case competitions.
- Learn to source and screen candidates via GitHub, resumes, and portfolios — you'll be trained on what to look for.
- Handle calling and follow-ups to confirm candidate availability and interest, with guidance from senior team members initially.
2. Hackathon & Event Operations
- Own end-to-end event logistics — registrations, seating, badges, timelines, on-ground coordination.
- Collaborate with tech/product teams (website, platform, judging tools) to keep the process smooth for participants.
- Be the single point of contact on event day — problems get solved through you, not around you.
3. Candidate Communication & Automation
- Run outbound calling and screening to confirm participant availability and fit.
- Set up and manage AI-assisted / scripted email and outreach sequences (tools like Zapier, n8n, Mailmeteor, or similar).
- Keep response times sharp — this role is judged on speed and tone, not just volume.
4. Post-Event & Talent Conversion
- Coordinate winner selection, rewards, and recognition with leadership.
- Run the loop that brings shortlisted talent into the office to meet HR and leadership for full-time / internship opportunities.
- Track and report on conversion — outreach → participation → shortlist → hire.
5. Employer Branding & Social
- Own post-event content — Instagram, LinkedIn, X — recaps, winner shoutouts, behind-the-scenes.
- Curate and organize event photo/video assets for marketing reuse.
- Work with design/marketing to keep our campus-facing brand consistent and, frankly, cool.
Who You Are
- You're a natural talker — equally comfortable pitching a college TPO and calming a nervous candidate.
- You already have live connections into colleges or student communities — as a recent grad, a campus ambassador alum, a college club/fest organizer, or someone plugged into student networks (Discord/WhatsApp communities, fest circuits, etc.). This role moves fast when you're not starting cold.
- You can negotiate. Whether it's a partnership, a vendor, or convincing someone to say yes to an opportunity — you know how to hold a conversation and land it.
- You read people well. You know when to push, when to listen, and when to just show up and be useful.
- You're organized enough to juggle multiple people and timelines without dropping the ball — even if no one taught you a formal system for it yet.
- You're coachable. You don't need to know how to run a hackathon on day one — you need to be sharp enough to learn it fast.
- Comfortable with basic tech context — you don't need to code, but reading a GitHub profile or following a technical conversation shouldn't intimidate you.
Requirements
- Active or recent ties to colleges/campuses — e.g. currently teaching or guest-lecturing, a recent graduate with a strong campus network, an ex-campus ambassador, or someone deeply embedded in student/community circles. This is not a role for someone starting outreach from zero.
- Graduate degree (any stream); MBA or equivalent is a strong plus.
- 1–3 years of experience — in campus ambassador programs, event coordination, sales/BD, HR/talent, customer-facing roles, or similar people-first work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication — this is the single most important requirement for this role.
- Demonstrated comfort talking to people across levels — students, professors, vendors, leadership.
- Willingness to travel to partner campuses and work flexible hours around event days.
