Position: Art & Craft Teacher – Primary Section
Job Summary:
The Art & Craft Teacher is responsible for fostering creativity, imagination, and artistic skills among primary school students through engaging and age-appropriate art and craft activities. The teacher will create a positive learning environment that encourages self-expression while supporting the school's educational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver creative Art & Craft lessons for students in the primary section.
- Develop lesson plans aligned with the school's curriculum and learning outcomes.
- Introduce students to various art forms, techniques, and craft activities using different materials and mediums.
- Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression among students.
- Prepare and organize art materials, tools, and classroom resources.
- Ensure the safe use and proper maintenance of art equipment and supplies.
- Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback on their artistic development.
- Display students' artwork on classroom and school notice boards to encourage confidence and appreciation.
- Organize and support school exhibitions, competitions, annual functions, and other creative events.
- Maintain discipline and create an inclusive, engaging classroom environment.
- Collaborate with class teachers and school leadership for interdisciplinary projects and school activities.
- Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher meetings, training sessions, and professional development programs.
- Perform other academic and administrative duties assigned by the school management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Applied Arts, or a related field.
- B.Ed. or Diploma in Education (preferred).
- Certification in Art & Craft or related specialization is an added advantage.
- ATD
Experience:
- 1–3 years of teaching experience in a primary school is preferred.
- Freshers with strong artistic skills and a passion for teaching may also apply.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong drawing, painting, and craft-making skills.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Creativity, patience, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of child-centered teaching methodologies.
- Basic computer skills for lesson planning and presentations.
