- Signature Brunch Execution: Develop and prepare a high-quality vegetarian brunch menu, including:
- Continental: Gourmet toasts, savory pancakes, eggless bakes, and Mediterranean-inspired platters.
- Thai/Asian: Fragrant curries, rice bowls, fusion small plates.
- Quality Control: Ensure every dish meets established standards for taste, temperature, and visual presentation.
- Recipe Standardization: Maintain precise recipe cards to ensure consistency across all shifts.
2. Kitchen Setup & Management
- Operational Setup: Organize the kitchen workflow, including station assignments and equipment placement for maximum efficiency.
- Inventory Control: Manage daily stock levels, oversee ordering with suppliers, and minimize food wastage.
- Equipment Oversight: Ensure all kitchen machinery and tools are properly maintained and operated safely.
3. Team Leadership & Training
- Staff Development: Actively train and mentor assistant cooks and kitchen helpers on cooking techniques, plating, and food safety.
- Scheduling: Assist in managing kitchen shift rosters to ensure adequate coverage during peak brunch hours.
- Work Culture: Foster a positive, high-energy, and collaborative environment in the "back of house."
4. Hygiene & Compliance
- Sanitation Standards: Maintain a spotless kitchen environment, adhering to all local food safety and health department regulations.
- Safety Protocols: Implement and enforce strict guidelines for food storage (FIFO), labeling, and personal hygiene.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a cafe or specialty vegetarian restaurant.
- Cuisine Mastery: Proven expertise in Continental, Thai, and Asian vegetarian cooking.
- Leadership Skills: Experience in managing or training junior staff members.
- Efficiency: Ability to perform under pressure during high-volume brunch rushes.
- Creativity: A "foodie" mindset with an interest in modern food trends and aesthetic plating.
