Job Overview
Syrus Hospital, Kushalnagar, is seeking an experienced and responsible Nursing Superintendent to oversee nursing operations, maintain high standards of patient care, and provide effective leadership to the nursing team.
The role requires strong experience in hospital nursing administration, staff coordination, quality improvement, and patient-care management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the overall functioning of the Nursing Department.
- Ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality nursing care across all clinical areas.
- Plan and coordinate nursing staff deployment and duty schedules.
- Monitor nursing manpower requirements and ensure appropriate staffing.
- Supervise Nursing Supervisors, Incharges, and nursing staff.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, nursing protocols, and clinical procedures.
- Monitor patient care standards and take corrective action when required.
- Conduct regular rounds and review nursing activities across departments.
- Coordinate with doctors, administration, HR, quality, and other hospital departments.
- Monitor nursing documentation, records, reports, and patient-care procedures.
- Support implementation of infection prevention and patient-safety practices.
- Identify training and development requirements for nursing staff.
- Organize orientation, in-service education, and skill-development programs.
- Monitor staff performance and provide appropriate guidance and feedback.
- Address patient-care concerns and nursing-related operational issues.
- Ensure proper utilization and availability of nursing equipment and supplies.
- Participate in audits, quality initiatives, and accreditation-related activities.
- Prepare and review nursing reports, statistics, and departmental performance indicators.
- Promote teamwork, discipline, professionalism, and a positive work culture.
- Report major nursing and operational issues to hospital management and ensure timely resolution.
Eligibility
- B.Sc Nursing / GNM from a recognized institution.
- Relevant registration with the applicable Nursing Council.
- Minimum 8 years of nursing experience, preferably with supervisory or managerial exposure.
- Previous experience in a multispecialty hospital will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of nursing administration, patient-care standards, and hospital procedures.
- Good leadership, communication, coordination, and decision-making skills.
