Daycare Teacher Job Description
Position Summary:
A daycare teacher provides daily care, supervision, and early education to infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children. They create a nurturing environment that supports children’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities (learning, play, and creative projects)
- Support children’s emotional and social development
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
- Assist with feeding, diapering, and toileting (depending on age group)
- Observe and document children’s progress and behavior
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about their child’s development
- Enforce daycare rules and promote positive behavior
- Follow all licensing regulations and health/safety standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) certification or degree (preferred)
- Experience working with young children
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, creativity, and a nurturing attitude
- Basic knowledge of child development
- CPR and First Aid certification (often required)
Work Environment
- Daycare centers, preschools, or private childcare settings
- May involve standing for long periods, lifting children, and active engagement
- Typically full-time, with some part-time or flexible schedules available
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
