Job Summary
We are looking for a Laboratory Technician with experience in construction material testing and quality control. The candidate will be responsible for conducting tests on concrete, cement, aggregates, soil, and other construction materials, maintaining test records, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine laboratory and field tests on construction materials such as concrete, cement, aggregates, soil, and steel.
- Perform cube casting, curing, and compressive strength testing of concrete samples.
- Carry out sieve analysis, moisture content, slump tests, density tests, and other quality control tests.
- Ensure testing procedures comply with relevant IS codes, project specifications, and quality standards.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration of testing instruments.
- Prepare and maintain test reports, quality records, and laboratory documentation.
- Monitor material quality and immediately report any non-conformities.
- Coordinate with Site Engineers, QA/QC Engineers, and project teams regarding test results.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of material samples.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and housekeeping standards within the laboratory.
- Assist during internal and external quality audits.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / ITI / B.Sc. (Relevant Discipline) or equivalent qualification.
- 1 to 4 years of experience in construction material testing laboratories.
- Knowledge of IS codes and standard testing procedures.
- Experience in concrete and soil testing will be preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge for report preparation and data entry.
