Kitchen Chef (CDP / Kitchen In-Charge)
Location: Sector 79, Mohali
Reports To: Café Manager / Operations Head
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Kitchen Chef to lead kitchen operations at Café. The ideal candidate will ensure consistent food quality, efficient kitchen management, inventory control, staff training, and compliance with hygiene standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Quality
- Prepare food as per brand recipes and presentation standards.
- Ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and plating.
- Maintain preparation schedules and minimize food wastage.
- Follow FIFO and proper stock rotation practices.
Kitchen Operations
- Manage day-to-day kitchen activities and service flow.
- Ensure timely preparation and delivery of food orders.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organization, and equipment.
Inventory & Cost Control
- Monitor stock levels and place purchase requirements.
- Conduct inventory checks and maintain proper storage.
- Control food costs and reduce wastage.
Team Management
- Supervise and train kitchen staff.
- Maintain discipline, teamwork, and SOP compliance.
- Coordinate effectively with service and barista teams.
Hygiene & Safety
- Ensure compliance with FSSAI and food safety standards.
- Maintain kitchen sanitation and staff hygiene practices.
Experience Required
3–7 years in cafés, restaurants, bakeries, or premium food outlets.
Must Have:
- Experience with sandwiches, wraps, pasta, salads, breakfast items, desserts, and café-style cuisine.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety.
Preferred:
- Experience in premium café brands.
- Knowledge of continental cuisine.
- Food costing and inventory management experience.
- FSSAI certification.
