The Preschool Coordinator oversees the daily operations and educational programming of the preschool. This position ensures a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment that supports the learning and growth of children aged 2 to 5 years. The coordinator supervises preschool staff, manages curriculum implementation, liaises with parents, and ensures compliance with licensing and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor preschool curriculum aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Supervise and support preschool teachers and assistants, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
- Maintain licensing requirements and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Create a positive and inclusive environment for children, staff, and families.
- Plan and oversee parent communication, including newsletters, meetings, and conferences.
- Monitor and assess child development and learning outcomes, maintaining records and coordinating interventions if needed.
- Manage enrollment, admissions, and transitions in collaboration with administrative staff.
- Organize professional development and training opportunities for preschool staff.
- Coordinate special events, celebrations, and school programs related to early childhood education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a preschool or early childhood setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge of state licensing regulations and early childhood curriculum standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and administrators.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with special education or inclusive classrooms.
- Familiarity with curriculum models like Reggio Emilia, Montessori, or Creative Curriculum.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and administrative software.
