Role Summary
We are looking for a skilled and safety-focused Drone Pilot to operate and test fixed-wing and multirotor UAV systems. The role involves conducting flight tests, customer demonstrations, field trials, and data collection missions while ensuring full compliance with DGCA regulations and company safety protocols.
This is a hands-on operational role ideal for pilots (including freshers with valid certification) who enjoy working closely with engineering teams and flying advanced drone platforms in real-world conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and execute flight operations for fixed-wing and multirotor drones (ISR, HALE, cargo, and surveillance platforms).
- Conduct pre-flight checks, battery management, payload integration, and post-flight inspections.
- Perform flight testing of new prototypes and production systems in coordination with aerospace, electronics, and software teams.
- Capture high-quality aerial data (imagery, video, LiDAR, thermal, etc.) as per mission requirements.
- Maintain accurate flight logs, maintenance records, and incident reports.
- Ensure strict adherence to DGCA regulations, airspace restrictions, and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Support customer demonstrations, field trials, and training sessions.
- Troubleshoot basic flight and system issues during operations and provide feedback to the engineering team.
- Assist in the maintenance, calibration, and upkeep of drone systems and ground control equipment.
- Participate in risk assessments and contribute to continuous improvement of flight safety processes.
- Travel to customer sites and test locations as required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid DGCA Remote Pilot Certificate (RPC) for Small or Medium category UAVs (mandatory).
- Freshers with valid DGCA RPC are eligible to apply.
- Basic understanding of UAV flight principles, aerodynamics, and weather effects on flight performance.
- Familiarity with ground control stations (Mission Planner, QGroundControl, or similar) is preferred.
- Knowledge of airspace regulations, NOTAMs, and operational safety.
- Ability to work in outdoor field conditions and travel as required.
- Willingness to learn and operate advanced fixed-wing and multirotor platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior flying experience (even during training or freelance projects).
- Experience with ArduPilot / PX4 based systems.
- Exposure to fixed-wing or long-endurance UAV platforms.
- Knowledge of thermal, LiDAR, or multispectral payloads.
- Background in Aeronautical / Aerospace / Electronics Engineering or related fields.
- Additional certifications (Type Rating / Instructor) will be an advantage.
