Dumont Creamery is seeking an experienced and strategic Purchase Manager to lead our procurement function. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing high-quality raw materials, packaging materials, machinery, and other operational requirements while ensuring cost efficiency, timely availability, and uninterrupted production.
The candidate should have prior experience in the Ice Cream, Dairy, Food Processing, or FMCG Manufacturing industry and possess strong expertise in vendor management, procurement planning, negotiation, inventory coordination, and supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end procurement activities for raw materials, ingredients, packaging materials, consumables, machinery, and services.
- Develop and execute procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and supplier performance.
- Source and evaluate new vendors while maintaining strong relationships with existing suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials to support uninterrupted production and business operations.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality, Warehouse, and Finance teams to forecast procurement requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimum stock availability while minimizing excess inventory.
- Track market trends, commodity prices, and supplier performance to support strategic purchasing decisions.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and statutory regulations.
- Manage purchase orders, vendor agreements, and procurement documentation accurately.
- Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, pricing, and service levels.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes and cost optimization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- MBA in Supply Chain or Operations is an added advantage.
Experience
- 8–12 years of experience in Procurement or Supply Chain.
- Mandatory experience in the Ice Cream, Dairy, Food Processing, or FMCG Manufacturing industry.
- Experience in handling procurement for dairy ingredients, flavors, stabilizers, packaging materials, cold chain equipment, and production consumables will be highly preferred.
