About the Role
Meluha International School is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable PGT Physics Teacher to teach Grades 11 and 12 under the CBSE curriculum. The ideal candidate will possess strong subject expertise, excellent classroom management skills, and the ability to make complex scientific concepts engaging, practical, and relatable for students.
The PGT Physics Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, preparing students for board examinations and competitive exams, fostering scientific inquiry, and contributing to the overall academic excellence of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver engaging Physics lessons aligned with CBSE curriculum requirements.
- Simplify complex concepts through practical demonstrations, experiments, and real-world applications.
- Create an interactive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and scientific exploration.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Integrate technology and innovative teaching methodologies into classroom instruction.
2. Curriculum Delivery & Assessment
- Prepare annual plans, lesson plans, and instructional materials in accordance with curriculum standards.
- Design and conduct formative and summative assessments.
- Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Prepare students effectively for CBSE Board Examinations and other academic assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and academic performance.
3. Laboratory Management
- Plan and conduct Physics practical sessions in accordance with CBSE guidelines.
- Ensure safe handling and proper usage of laboratory equipment and materials.
- Maintain laboratory records, practical files, and inventory.
- Promote a culture of scientific investigation and experimentation among students.
4. Student Development & Mentorship
- Monitor students' academic progress and provide additional support where required.
- Mentor students in achieving academic goals and developing problem-solving skills.
- Encourage participation in science fairs, Olympiads, exhibitions, and other academic competitions.
- Foster curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong interest in science and technology.
5. Parent & School Collaboration
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and academic concerns.
- Attend parent-teacher meetings, school events, and academic review sessions.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, coordinators, and school leadership to enhance learning outcomes.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary projects and school-wide academic initiatives.
6. Professional Responsibilities:
- Participate actively in professional development programs, workshops, and training sessions.
- Stay updated with CBSE curriculum changes, advancements in Physics, and emerging educational practices.
- Support school policies, procedures, and institutional goals.
- Undertake additional academic and administrative responsibilities as assigned by school leadership.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Physics (M.Sc. Physics) from a recognised university.
- B.Ed. mandatory.
- CTET/TET qualification preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience as a PGT Physics Teacher in a CBSE school.
- Experience in preparing students for CBSE Board Examinations is preferred.
- Familiarity with modern teaching tools, laboratory practices, and educational technology.
