A CCTV Technician (Site) is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting CCTV surveillance systems at customer or project sites.
Key Roles and ResponsibilitiesInstallation & Setup
- Install CCTV cameras, DVRs, NVRs, monitors, and related security equipment.
- Lay and terminate cables (UTP, coaxial, fiber, power cables).
- Mount cameras and ensure proper positioning and coverage.
- Configure network settings for IP cameras and remote access.
Testing & Commissioning
- Test cameras, recording devices, and network connectivity.
- Verify video quality, storage functionality, and system performance.
- Commission systems according to project specifications.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and repair faults in CCTV systems.
- Replace defective cameras, power supplies, connectors, and network components.
- Perform preventive maintenance and system health checks.
- Resolve issues related to recording, playback, and remote monitoring.
Site Coordination
- Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, electricians, and clients.
- Follow site safety procedures and company standards.
- Report installation progress and technical issues.
Documentation
- Maintain installation records and service reports.
- Prepare cable layouts, camera location details, and equipment inventories.
- Update configuration and maintenance logs.
Customer Support
- Demonstrate system operation to clients.
- Provide basic user training on monitoring and playback functions.
- Respond to service calls and support requests.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of CCTV systems, DVR/NVR operation, and IP networking.
- Understanding of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, switches, and routers.
- Cable crimping, testing, and termination skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings and security system layouts.
- Basic electrical and electronics knowledge.
- Familiarity with brands such as Hikvision, Dahua Technology, and Axis Communications.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
