ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Marketing GEO Project Manager to lead the execution of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) initiatives within our marketing organization. This role bridges marketing strategy and AI-driven content delivery, ensuring our brand achieves optimal visibility across AI-generated search results, voice assistants, and LLM-powered platforms. You will own the full project lifecycle—aligning cross-functional marketing teams, managing timelines, and driving measurable improvements in AI citation frequency and brand share-of-voice.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Translate marketing objectives and brand goals into structured GEO project plans with defined timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation across the marketing pod.
- Own end-to-end marketing campaign delivery within GEO initiatives—managing task intake, triage, and sprint planning to eliminate bottlenecks before they affect campaign timelines.
- Identify risks across marketing workstreams, plan mitigation strategies, and maintain full visibility for client and internal marketing stakeholders.
- Run daily marketing stand-ups and cadence reviews, ensuring alignment between content, SEO, data, and technical teams on GEO priorities.
- Act as the primary liaison between marketing leadership and the GEO execution pod, conducting status reviews and translating marketing KPIs into operational priorities.
- Monitor budget burn against the T&M model for marketing engagements, tracking resource utilization and flagging scope creep that could impact campaign timelines or commercial commitments.
- Lead monthly marketing steering reviews with senior stakeholders, presenting consolidated delivery performance, AI visibility metrics, and forward-looking marketing priorities.
- Develop and maintain a GEO measurement framework defining marketing-specific success metrics including AI citation frequency, brand mention share-of-voice, and organic traffic from AI-referred sessions.
- Collaborate with marketing analytics teams to build reporting packs that connect GEO performance to broader brand health and campaign effectiveness metrics.
- Coordinate across paid, owned, and earned marketing channels to ensure GEO strategy is integrated into the full marketing mix.
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Marketing project delivery — experience managing integrated marketing campaigns using Jira, Asana, or equivalent tools, with strong understanding of marketing workflow and approval processes.
- Stakeholder management in marketing environments — structuring escalation frameworks, preparing C-level marketing reporting packs, and managing expectations across onshore and offshore teams.
- Risk and dependency management across marketing programs — maintaining project logs, identifying critical dependencies between content, creative, and technical workstreams.
- Resource capacity planning for marketing teams — forecasting headcount requirements, managing utilization, and rebalancing workloads based on marketing performance data.
- Budget governance in T&M marketing engagements — tracking burn rate against contracted hours, identifying over-run risks, and aligning resource deployment with SOW milestones.
- GEO measurement for marketing — defining measurement standards across AI citation frequency, brand share-of-voice growth, content output velocity, and organic traffic attribution from AI-referred sessions.
- Cross-functional marketing leadership — experience working across content, SEO, analytics, paid media, and brand teams in a matrixed marketing organization.
