Purpose of the Role
To foster a strong foundation in mathematical concepts, logical reasoning, problem-solving, and numeracy skills among primary school students through engaging, activity-based, and child-centered teaching methodologies aligned with CBSE and NEP 2020 guidelines.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Responsibilities
- Teach Mathematics to students of Grades I to V as per the CBSE curriculum.
- Prepare annual plans, lesson plans, worksheets, teaching aids, and assessments.
- Deliver interactive and experiential learning experiences using activity-based pedagogy.
- Develop students' understanding of numbers, operations, geometry, measurement, data handling, and patterns.
- Use manipulatives, games, projects, and technology to make learning meaningful and enjoyable.
- Differentiate instruction to cater to varied learning needs and abilities.
- Ensure timely completion of the syllabus and learning outcomes.
Student Development
- Build confidence and positive attitudes towards Mathematics.
- Encourage critical thinking, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Identify students requiring additional support and provide remedial interventions.
- Recognize and nurture mathematically gifted learners through enrichment activities.
- Promote collaborative learning and active classroom participation.
Assessment & Evaluation
- Conduct formative and summative assessments as per school and CBSE guidelines.
- Maintain assessment records, anecdotal records, and student portfolios.
- Analyze student performance and implement improvement strategies.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Prepare progress reports and maintain academic documentation.
Classroom Management
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Maintain discipline and positive classroom culture.
- Ensure effective use of teaching-learning materials and classroom resources.
- Display student work and mathematical learning aids to enrich the learning environment.
Parent and School Engagement
- Participate actively in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
- Communicate student progress and learning needs effectively to parents.
- Contribute to school events, exhibitions, assemblies, and academic initiatives.
- Collaborate with colleagues for curriculum planning and interdisciplinary activities.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain attendance records, lesson plans, assessment files, and student data.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development programs, and training sessions.
- Adhere to school policies, CBSE guidelines, and child protection norms.
QualificationEssential
- Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics or related discipline.
- Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) / Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.).
- Qualified in CTET / State TET (preferred as per CBSE norms).
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in a CBSE or reputed school.
Preferred
- Experience in activity-based and experiential learning methodologies.
- Familiarity with NEP 2020, competency-based education, and CBSE learning outcomes.
- Knowledge of educational technology and digital teaching tools.
