Roles and Responsibilities of a Pre-Primary Teacher
1. Teaching and Learning
- Plan and conduct age-appropriate lessons and activities.
- Develop children's language, cognitive, social, emotional, and motor skills.
- Use play-way and activity-based teaching methods.
- Introduce basic concepts such as colors, shapes, numbers, letters, and rhymes.
- Encourage creativity through art, music, storytelling, and role-play activities.
2. Classroom Management
- Create a safe, welcoming, and child-friendly classroom environment.
- Maintain classroom discipline using positive reinforcement.
- Organize learning materials, toys, and teaching aids.
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the classroom.
3. Child Development and Care
- Monitor and support each child's overall development.
- Identify learning difficulties or behavioral concerns and report them to the coordinator/principal.
- Encourage good habits, manners, and social skills.
- Provide emotional support and build children's confidence and self-esteem.
4. Assessment and Record Keeping
- Observe and assess children's progress regularly.
- Maintain attendance records and student portfolios.
- Prepare progress reports and share feedback with parents.
- Document children's learning achievements and developmental milestones.
5. Parent Communication
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding children's progress and behavior.
- Attend parent-teacher meetings and school events.
- Address parents' concerns professionally and promptly.
- Guide parents on supporting learning activities at home.
6. Safety and Welfare
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, and outdoor play.
- Follow school safety policies and emergency procedures.
- Administer basic first aid when required and report incidents immediately.
7. School Responsibilities
- Participate in school events, celebrations, and special programs.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and workshops.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and improve educational activities.
- Perform duties assigned by the Principal, Coordinator, or Management.
8. Professional Conduct
- Maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
- Follow school rules, policies, and professional ethics.
- Dress appropriately and maintain a positive attitude.
- Continuously update teaching skills through professional development programs.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
