The Assistant Manager – Transport Operations is responsible for managing the day-to-day transportation operations, ensuring timely vehicle placement, efficient fleet utilization, customer satisfaction, and coordination between clients, transporters, drivers, and internal departments. The role requires strong operational knowledge, problem-solving ability, and leadership skills to ensure smooth logistics operations while maintaining compliance with company policies.
Key Roles & Responsibilities: Operations Management
- Supervise daily transportation and logistics operations.
- Ensure timely vehicle placement as per customer requirements.
- Monitor vehicle movement from loading to final unloading.
- Track shipments and resolve transit-related issues promptly.
- Ensure timely completion of deliveries and minimize delays.
Fleet & Vendor Management
- Coordinate with vehicle owners, transport vendors, and brokers.
- Maintain healthy relationships with transport partners.
- Ensure optimum fleet utilization and availability.
- Negotiate freight rates when required.
Customer Coordination
- Communicate with customers regarding vehicle placement, transit status, and delivery updates.
- Resolve customer complaints professionally and promptly.
- Maintain high standards of customer service.
Documentation & Billing
- Verify Loading Receipts (LR), Proof of Delivery (POD), E-Way Bills, invoices, and other transport documents.
- Ensure timely submission of PODs for billing.
- Coordinate with the accounts department for invoice generation and payment follow-up.
- Maintain complete operational records.
Team Management
- Supervise operations executives, coordinators, and data entry staff.
- Allocate daily responsibilities and monitor team performance.
- Train and guide junior employees on operational procedures.
- Ensure discipline and adherence to company policies.
MIS & Reporting
- Prepare daily operational reports.
- Monitor vehicle turnaround time (TAT).
- Analyze pending unloadings and detention cases.
- Submit performance reports to management.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with transport laws, GST requirements, E-Way Bill regulations, and company policies.
- Monitor statutory documentation related to vehicles and transport operations.
- Ensure safety standards are followed during transportation.
Problem Resolution
- Handle emergency operational issues including vehicle breakdowns, detention, route diversions, and customer escalations.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders for immediate resolution.
- Take corrective actions to reduce operational losses.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline (MBA in logistics or supply chain management preferred).
- 3–7 years of experience in transport, logistics, or supply chain operations.
- Strong knowledge of road transportation and fleet management.
- Good understanding of GST, E-Way Bill, LR, POD, and transport documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, and transport management software.

Additional Duties
The employee shall perform any other operational, administrative, or managerial duties assigned by the management from time to time in the best interest of the company. The Company reserves the right to modify or expand the responsibilities of this position based on business requirements.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
