Video Editor

1. Position Overview
The Video Editor will be responsible for creating, editing, and delivering high-quality video content for PCTE Group of Institutes across social media, digital marketing, events, admissions, academic activities, and institutional promotions.
The role requires creativity, technical expertise in video editing, an understanding of social media trends, and the ability to convert raw footage into engaging and professional visual content.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Video Editing
- Edit videos for Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and other digital platforms.
- Convert raw footage into engaging, professional, and visually appealing videos.
- Edit promotional videos, reels, interviews, testimonials, event highlights, campus videos, and academic content.
- Add transitions, titles, subtitles, graphics, music, sound effects, and other elements as required.
- Ensure proper colour correction, audio balancing, framing, and overall video quality.
- Create short-form content such as Reels, Shorts, and promotional clips.
B. Content Creation
- Collaborate with the Marketing, Admissions, Training & Placement, Academic, and Event teams to understand content requirements.
- Develop creative video concepts based on campaigns, events, admissions, achievements, and institutional activities.
- Suggest creative ideas and formats to improve audience engagement.
- Adapt videos according to different platform requirements and aspect ratios.
C. Event & Campus Coverage
- Coordinate with the concerned teams for coverage of institutional events, seminars, workshops, conferences, placement drives, student activities, and special occasions.
- Capture or coordinate the collection of photographs and video footage where required.
- Produce timely event highlight videos and promotional content.
- Maintain organised archives of raw footage and completed projects.
D. Social Media Support
- Stay updated with current video trends, Reels formats, editing styles, music, transitions, and digital content trends.
- Create content that is suitable for the institute's social media strategy.
- Support the social media team with regular video content.
- Repurpose long-form content into short, engaging videos.
E. Branding & Quality Control
- Ensure all videos follow PCTE's branding guidelines and maintain a consistent visual identity.
- Ensure accuracy of names, designations, event titles, logos, and other institutional information.
- Maintain professional standards in all published content.
- Review the final output carefully before submission/publication.
3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Number and quality of videos delivered within timelines.
- Quality and creativity of video content.
- Social media engagement and reach generated through video content.
- Timely coverage of institutional events.
- Turnaround time for urgent/promotional videos.
- Consistency with institutional branding.
- Quality of audio, visuals, graphics, and editing.
- Ability to manage multiple video projects simultaneously.
4. Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree/diploma in Mass Communication, Multimedia, Animation, Film Making, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Relevant certification in video editing or multimedia will be an advantage.
5. Experience
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in video editing, digital content creation, social media, or a similar role.
- Freshers with strong portfolios and excellent editing skills may also be considered.
- Experience in an educational institution, digital marketing agency, media organisation, or corporate environment will be preferred.
6. Technical Skills
Proficiency in one or more of the following:
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Adobe After Effects
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Audition
- DaVinci Resolve
- CapCut or other short-form video editing tools
- Basic motion graphics and animation
- Colour correction and grading
- Audio editing and sound mixing
- Video compression and export for different platforms

8. Portfolio Requirement
Candidates should preferably provide a portfolio/showreel of previous video editing and content creation work along with their application.
9. Core Expectations
The Video Editor will be expected to take ownership of the complete video production process, from understanding the requirement and organising footage to editing, adding graphics/music, finalising the video, and delivering the content within the required timeline.
The candidate should demonstrate creativity, proactiveness, speed, accuracy, and a strong understanding of digital and social-media-oriented video content.
