The Quality Control Executive is responsible for ensuring every garment meets the brand’s standards of excellence before it reaches the customer. This role focuses on the final stages of production, specifically thread cutting (dhaga), measurement accuracy, and overall garment finishing.
Key Responsibilities
- Dhaga (Thread) Cutting & Trimming:
- Meticulously inspect garments for loose threads, uncut chains, and internal overlock tails.
- Ensure all embroidery and seam ends are cleanly trimmed without damaging the fabric.
- Measurement Verification:
- Check every garment against the official Size Specification Sheet.
- Verify critical points: Chest, Waist, Hip, Length, Shoulder, and Sleeve openings.
- Ensure the garment falls within the allowed tolerance levels (e.g., +/- 0.5 inches).
- Finishing Inspection:
- Check for fabric defects such as stains, pulls, weaving flaws, or color shading variations.
- Inspect hardware and embellishments (zippers, hooks, buttons, beads, or sequins) for secure attachment and functionality.
- Verify that the ironing/pressing is crisp and does not leave "shine marks" on delicate fabrics.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain a daily QC log of passed and rejected pieces.
- Identify recurring defects and communicate them to the production team to prevent future errors.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Attention to Detail: An eagle eye for the smallest loose thread or a slight measurement deviation.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with garment construction, different fabric types (silks, cottons, organza), and tailoring techniques.
- Tools: Proficient in using a measuring tape and basic trimming tools.
- Experience: Prior experience in high-end ethnic wear or contemporary Indian wear is preferred.
