Job Description
We are looking for a technically skilled Production Incharge with strong expertise in AutoCAD 2D drafting to join our manufacturing team at G R Industrial Engineering Products Private Limited. The primary responsibility of this role is to prepare, modify, and maintain accurate 2D engineering drawings for production. The candidate will also support production planning, manufacturing coordination, subcontractor follow-up, documentation, and dispatch activities to ensure smooth shop floor operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, modify, and maintain accurate 2D engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
- Create manufacturing drawings from design inputs with proper dimensions, tolerances, and machining details.
- Review drawings, incorporate revisions, and ensure all drawings are approved before releasing them for production.
- Maintain proper revision control and documentation of all engineering drawings.
- Coordinate with the Design, Production, and Quality teams to clarify drawing requirements and implement engineering changes.
- Plan and coordinate daily production activities to achieve production targets.
- Monitor in-house manufacturing and subcontracted jobs to ensure timely completion.
- Coordinate with subcontractors regarding production status, quality issues, material requirements, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare and maintain Daily Production Reports (DPR), production sheets, job cards, and work orders.
- Maintain production records, material movement records, and production tracking sheets.
- Coordinate with Stores, Quality, Production, and Dispatch departments for smooth workflow.
- Monitor dispatch schedules and ensure products are delivered on time.
- Identify production bottlenecks and coordinate corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and manufacturing efficiency.
Key Skills
- Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD 2D with the ability to create and modify detailed mechanical manufacturing drawings.
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and prepare mechanical engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of machining processes, manufacturing methods, and production workflow.
- Knowledge of production planning and shop floor coordination.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and production documentation.
- Strong communication, coordination, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet production deadlines.
Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 3–5 years of experience in production planning or manufacturing coordination will be an added advantage.
