About the Role
We are a small family of 4 looking for a reliable and hardworking Cook cum Househelp for our home. The work is light — we have a small 1-room home — and the hours are short. We need someone who can cook simple, fresh Indian meals (without onion and garlic) in the morning and evening, and take care of basic daily cleaning.
Ideal for someone looking for a part-time role with fixed, comfortable hours.
Cooking Duties
Morning:
- Prepare fresh breakfast — Poha, Upma, Paratha, Idli, Dosa, Puri-Sabzi, Sabudana Khichdi (rotation)
- Pack tiffin / lunch box if required
- Make fresh chutney, sambhar, or accompaniments as needed
- Chai / coffee preparation
- All cooking strictly without onion and garlic
Evening:
- Cook dinner for 4 — dal, 1–2 sabzis, rice / roti
- Simple home-style North or South Indian meals
- Occasional sweet dish for festivals or requests
- No onion, no garlic in any dish — hing and ginger used as base
Cleaning & Household Duties
- Wash and clean all utensils after each meal
- Sweep and mop the room and kitchen daily
- Wipe kitchen counter, stove, and sink after cooking
- Basic tidying of the room — arranging, dusting when needed
- Take out kitchen waste / garbage daily
- Visit nearby market to buy fresh vegetables and daily groceries as instructed
What We Are Looking For
- Experience cooking without onion and garlic — mandatory
- Knows both North Indian and South Indian basic dishes
- Honest, punctual, and clean in habits
- Can manage cooking and light housework independently
- Comfortable with market visits and small purchases within budget
- Preferably a woman candidate — but open to all
- Basic Hindi or Bengali communication
- References from previous household preferred
