We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Interior Design Draftsman to join our design team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed interior design drawings, furniture shop drawings, and coordinating MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) layouts to ensure seamless project execution. The candidate should possess strong drafting skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to work closely with designers, architects, consultants, and project teams.
Key Responsibilities : Interior Design Drafting
- Prepare detailed interior fit-out drawings including layout plans, elevations, sections, ceiling plans, flooring plans, and joinery details.
- Develop construction drawings based on design concepts and specifications.
- Ensure drawings comply with project standards, building codes, and client requirements.
Furniture & Joinery Drawings
- Prepare detailed furniture shop drawings and custom joinery details.
- Create production-ready drawings for modular and bespoke furniture.
- Coordinate with vendors, carpenters, and fabrication teams to ensure accurate execution.
MEP Coordination
- Coordinate interior design drawings with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing services.
- Identify and resolve clashes between interior elements and MEP layouts.
- Prepare coordinated drawings for site execution and approvals.
Project Coordination
- Collaborate with Interior Designers, Architects, Consultants, and Site Engineers.
- Incorporate revisions and updates based on client feedback and site requirements.
- Conduct site visits when required to verify dimensions and ensure drawing accuracy.
Documentation & Quality Control
- Maintain organized project documentation and drawing records.
- Ensure all drawings are updated and issued according to project timelines.
- Support project teams with technical documentation during execution.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Drafting, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in interior design drafting and furniture detailing.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
- Knowledge of SketchUp, Revit, or other 3D software will be an advantage.
- Strong understanding of furniture manufacturing and joinery detailing.
- Working knowledge of MEP coordination and construction practices.
- Ability to read architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in residential, commercial, hospitality, or retail interior projects.
- Familiarity with BOQs, material specifications, and site execution processes.
- Experience working with interior fit-out contractors or design firms.
