A Carding Fitter in the textile industry is responsible for the installation, repair, preventive maintenance, and precise mechanical alignment of carding machines. They play a vital role in the spinning preparatory department by minimizing machine downtime and ensuring fibers are properly opened, cleaned, and aligned
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Preventive Maintenance & Upkeep
- Routine Servicing: Carry out scheduled oiling, greasing, and cleaning of moving machine parts to prevent wear and tear.
- Component Overhaul: Dismantle and inspect equipment to locate defects; repair or replace damaged parts like wire clothing (metallic or flexible).
- Equipment Installation: Assist in the initial erection and leveling of new carding and spinning preparatory machinery.
2. Precise Mechanical Settings
- Setting Clearances: Accurately measure and set minute gaps (often in thousandths of an inch) between critical components like the cylinder, doffer, flats, and licker-in.
- Calibration: Adjust machine settings and speeds to suit different types of raw fibers (e.g., cotton, synthetics, or wool).
- Wire Maintenance: Inspect and grind/sharpen card clothing to ensure optimal fiber transfer and waste extraction.
3. Troubleshooting & Repairs
- Breakdown Management: Conduct diagnostic tests on malfunctioning systems, identify the root cause, and execute quick repairs.
- Quality Tuning: Resolve issues linked to machine faults, such as improper sliver weight, web breakage, or excessive fiber neps.
- Testing: Test reassembled or repaired equipment to verify performance meets the mill's required product standards.
4. Safety & Compliance
- Workplace Safety: Ensure strict adherence to mechanical and electrical safety rules to prevent accidents or fire hazards caused by improper settings or friction.
- Waste Management: Assist in maintaining a clean work environment and ensuring waste extraction systems (e.g., suction and filters) function properly
Qualifications:
- ITT Fitter
- Minimum 2 Years Experience in Textile Industry should be preferred
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹24,000.00 per month
