Job Summary
We are looking for a highly experienced, dynamic, and result-oriented Merchandiser from the Leather Goods Export Industry who can independently handle buyers, sampling, costing, production coordination, and shipment execution for international leather goods orders.
The candidate must possess strong technical and commercial knowledge of leather bags, wallets, belts, and accessories manufacturing processes and should be capable of handling complete order execution from product development till final shipment.

1. Key Responsibilities1. International Buyer Handling & Order Execution
- Independently communicate with international buyers regarding enquiries, developments, pricing, approvals, and shipment schedules.
- Handle complete order execution from order confirmation to final shipment.
- Build strong buyer relationships through professional communication and timely updates.
- Ensure all buyer requirements, specifications, and delivery timelines are properly executed.
2. Product Development & Sampling
- Coordinate with design and sampling teams for development of leather bags, wallets, belts, and SLG products.
- Handle proto samples, development samples, counter samples, and PP samples efficiently.
- Ensure timely sample submission and approval follow-up with buyers.
- Maintain high sample quality standards according to buyer expectations.
3. Costing & Commercial Handling
- Prepare accurate product costing considering:
- Leather
- Fittings
- Accessories
- Labour
- Packaging
- Logistics
- Negotiate pricing with buyers while maintaining company profitability.
- Maintain costing sheets and commercial records systematically.
4. Production Coordination & Follow-Up
- Coordinate closely with:
- Cutting
- Stitching
- Edge Painting
- Assembly
- Finishing
- Packing Departments
- Monitor production status regularly to ensure shipment deadlines are achieved.
- Resolve production and material-related issues proactively.
5. Raw Material & Accessories Coordination
- Coordinate with procurement teams for leather, lining, fittings, zippers, threads, packaging materials, and trims.
- Ensure timely availability of all materials according to production planning.
- Verify quality and specifications of materials as per buyer requirements.
6. Quality & Shipment Coordination
- Work closely with QA/QC teams for inline and final inspections.
- Ensure products meet buyer-approved quality standards.
- Coordinate with logistics and documentation teams for:
- Invoice
- Packing List
- Shipping Instructions
- Shipment Planning
- Follow up with freight forwarders and transporters for on-time dispatch.
7. Team Coordination & Leadership
- Guide junior merchandisers and merchandising assistants.
- Ensure smooth coordination between buyers, factory, and internal departments.
- Maintain strong follow-up and execution culture within the merchandising team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Leather Technology, Fashion, or related field preferred.
- Strong technical understanding of leather goods manufacturing processes.
Experience Required:
MUST HAVE:
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in Leather Goods Merchandising.
- Experience in export-oriented leather manufacturing companies is mandatory.
- Strong exposure to international buyer handling and factory coordination.
Required Skills:
- Excellent knowledge of leather bags, wallets, belts, and SLG manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of leather, fittings, trims, and accessories.
- Expertise in buyer communication and order management.
- Strong costing and negotiation skills.
- Excellent follow-up and production coordination abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple export orders simultaneously.
- Good command over MS Excel, email communication, and ERP systems.
