Role Summary
The Junior QE Engineer will work closely with QE team, Development and DevOps teams to support highreliability testing and automation that improves software quality and release confidence. This role is ideal for a recent graduate who is a strong selflearner, excited to build modern automation skills, and motivated to explore and implement new AI technologies for testing. The engineer will contribute to both manual testing and automation, with coaching and mentorship from senior QE team members.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and execute test cases for new features and enhancements (manual and automated).
- Build and maintain automation that validates application functionality from UI to APIs and downstream systems.
- Participate in defect reporting, test result analysis, and quality reporting across environments.
- Collaborate with DevOps to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Prepare and maintain documentation for test approaches, automation design, and standards.
- Demonstrate aptitude and curiosity to learn and apply AI tools/approaches in testing (e.g., AIassisted test design, test optimization, defect insights).
- Support experiments / proofs of concept to evaluate how AI can improve test effectiveness and efficiency (under mentorship). (Role expectation; phrased as growth focus)
- Contribute ideas for continuous improvement and automation acceleration through new tooling and techniques.
- Contribute to documentation, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications (Must Have)
- Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Foundational understanding of software testing concepts (SDLC/STLC, test case creation, defect lifecycle).
- Programming/scripting capability (Java / Python / JavaScript or similar) and willingness to grow in automation.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills; ability to learn quickly in a fastpaced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Exposure to any test automation tools (e.g., Selenium or other frameworks) and/or API testing tools.
- Familiarity with CI tools such as Jenkins/Bamboo/Azure DevOps (coursework or projects acceptable).
- Basic SQL knowledge.
- Interest in modern QE areas such as AI/ML test optimization or automation-first quality engineering.
