Job Title: Junior Production Supervisor
Location: Olpad, Surat
Qualification: Diploma Chemical
Key Responsibilities
1. Shift & Plant Operations
- Supervise and execute day-to-day chemical batch operations according to the production plan.
- Charge raw materials accurately into reactors and monitor critical parameters such as temperature, pressure, pH, and flow rates.
- Monitor unit operations including distillation columns, filtration systems, and solvent recovery blocks.
- Handle chemical process equipment like glass-lined reactors (GLRs), stainless steel reactors (SSRs), centrifuges, dryers, and pumps.
- Maintain clean plant housekeeping (5S) and ensure effective shift handover and takeover protocols.
2. Process Safety & Material Handling
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols for handling hazardous and toxic raw materials (such as hydrogen cyanide/cyanide-based compounds and intermediates).
- Monitor the correct usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all operators and contract workers on the floor.
- Conduct regular inspections of safety equipment, including eye washers, safety showers, gas detectors, and fire extinguishers in the production area.
- Respond immediately to any process deviations, leakages, or line blocks by escalating according to safety protocols.
3. Documentation & Quality Compliance
- Accurately fill and maintain Batch Production Records (BPR), shift logs, and raw material consumption sheets in real-time.
- Coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) laboratory for process sampling and timely in-process sample approvals.
- Ensure all batch deviations or equipment abnormalities are documented and reported promptly to the Shift In-Charge.
4. Workforce Management
- Allocate tasks to field operators and contract workers effectively to minimize downtime.
- Guide and train junior operators on safe material handling and operational SOPs.
