Manager – Finance & Accounts
Role Summary
The Manager – Finance & Accounts is responsible for overseeing end-to-end financial and accounting operations, including inventory and expense control, ledger scrutiny, internal controls, budgeting, MIS, statutory compliances, and support in audits and tax assessments. The role ensures financial accuracy, compliance, and strong internal control systems across projects and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and review all financial transactions in ERP systems (income, purchases, expenses)
- Ensure accurate use of project codes/cost centres and appropriate apportionment of shared expenses
- Establish and monitor robust processes and controls for fees, purchases, and expenses
- Manage payroll processing along with attendance records
- Maintain effective controls for consumables, fixed assets, and stock records
- Monitor student fee receivables, grants, and other income streams
- Conduct ledger scrutiny and reconciliation of receivables and payables
- Lead the annual budgeting process in coordination with project managers
- Prepare annual reforecasts ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Develop monthly variance analysis reports (budget vs actual) at project and consolidated levels, including explanatory insights
- Liaise with universities, state government agencies, and local authorities for compliance-related matters
- Provide financial data, reports, and cost information to internal and external stakeholders as required
- Assist auditors and consultants in statutory audits, IT scrutiny, and regulatory matters
- Drive continuous improvement in financial policies, processes, systems, and internal controls
- Ensure compliance with legal provisions, ethical standards, and industry best practices
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- B.Com / M.Com with CA Inter or CA Final
- Minimum 8 years of relevant accounting and finance experience
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office and Tally ERP
- Sound understanding of Direct Tax and applicable statutory taxes
- Proficiency in English and Gujarati
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including stakeholder engagement
- High attention to detail with a methodical and structured approach
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Team player with adaptability to changing priorities and ambiguous environments
- Demonstrates high levels of integrity, commitment, and professionalism
