JOB OVERVIEW
Job purpose
To design accurate, manufacturable, and cost-effective plastic injection moulds using NX, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, design standards, and manufacturing feasibility while supporting successful tool trials, engineering changes, and project delivery.
Job Responsibilities
1. Design complete plastic injection moulds using NX, including mould mechanisms, cooling, ejection systems, and standard assemblies as per customer requirements.
2. Ensure accurate mould design, implement ECNs, incorporate Moldflow findings, support trial modifications (T0/T1/T2), and maintain design records.
3. Complete designs within project timelines and prepare DFM, feasibility studies, and technical proposals to improve manufacturability and tool performance.
4. Optimize mould design, steel sizes, cooling layouts, hot runner selection, and BOM to reduce tooling cost and improve manufacturing efficiency.
5. Participate in design reviews, customer discussions, and trial analysis while resolving design-related issues and implementing corrective actions.
6. Ensure compliance with internal/customer CAD standards, maintain revision control, design libraries, BOMs, and release documentation as per ISO procedures.
7. Coordinate with Project, CAM, Assembly, Manufacturing, Quality, Processing, Purchase, suppliers, and hot runner manufacturers for smooth project execution.
8. Develop innovative mould concepts, implement CAD automation, standardization, Kaizen initiatives, and recommend process improvements.
9. Identify design risks, implement preventive actions, maintain complete project documentation, and ensure compliance with ISO and customer requirements.
10. Continuously upgrade expertise in Siemens NX, mould technologies, Moldflow, and mentor junior designers through technical knowledge sharing.
