Position Summary:
Project Engineer is responsible for design and drawing activities at India office’s by ensuring that adequate support is provided at all stages of crane manufacturing. He will be responsible for the maintenance of all part numbers and drawings pertaining to all existing & proposed crane projects.
The job holder is responsible for product development as per customer specification and applicable code requirements. Generation of design calculations and drawings, coordination with draftsmen & other departments is the essentials of this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering estimation for cranes with respect to pre-sales activities along with Project Manager
- Project related engineering activities.
- Design optimum product incorporating the customer requirements to satisfy customer fully.
- Ensure the safety of the design by designing the product as per the applicable standards viz. API-2C.
- Prepare the sketches and make it available to the draftsman to draft it in final fabrication drawing.
- Maintain the documented records of the various design calculations.
- Analyze the product using various software for its safe working and maintain the reports of the analysis.
- Communicate with Engineering Manger design and draftsman and other departments to get the maximum inputs.
- Check and approve the final drawings and release it for the fabrication.
- Assist production and various departments in the execution of the project.
- Ensure that QMS is being followed
Person Specifications:
PROFILE:
The Project Engineer is a person who can perform basic design and drawings e necessary definition,
. A Engineering person with a strong technical understanding is required in this position.
BE/B Tech Mechanical or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Should have min 7-8 yrs experience as BE/ BTech or 9 to 10 years experience as Diploma, of which at least 2 years experience in cranes/ lifting equipment industry as Project Engineer.
- Strong Analytical and Problem solving ability to deal with complex issues
- Team working and influencing skills
- Ability to influence various function heads
- Building High Performance Teams
Proficiency in the use of common software packages including Microsoft Office suite - Word, Excel, Power Point.
- Exceptional commitment to quality and a passion for quality assurance.
Need to have knowledge of Auto Cad, Autodesk Inventor & 2D & 3D modelling.
Working Knowledge of ERP Software is good to have.
