Role Overview
We are seeking a Jira-expert professional to oversee our software delivery lifecycle. This individual will be responsible for structuring our Jira environment to support multi-product release cycles, ensuring data integrity, and automating workflows to reduce manual overhead for engineering teams. The ideal candidate doesn't just "use" Jira—they architect it to provide transparency for stakeholders and efficiency for developers.
Key Responsibilities
• Release Management: Design and maintain Release Versions and Fix Versions across multiple interdependent projects.
• Workflow Orchestration: Build and optimize custom Jira workflows, transitions, and validators tailored to the product release gate process (e.g., UAT, Staging, Production).
• Roadmapping: Utilize Jira Plans (Advanced Roadmaps) to manage cross-team dependencies and capacity planning.
• Automation: Implement Jira Automation rules to sync statuses, trigger notifications, and manage hand-offs between Product, Engineering, and QA.
• Dashboards & Reporting: Create high-impact dashboards using JQL (Jira Query Language) to track Sprint Velocity, Release Burndowns, and Cycle Time.
• Governance: Manage permissions, security levels, and custom fields to ensure a standardized yet flexible environment for different module teams.
Required Technical Skills
• Advanced JQL Mastery: Ability to write complex queries for custom reporting and filtering.
• Jira Plans / Portfolio: Deep experience in managing cross-project dependencies and "What-If" scenarios in Advanced Roadmaps.
• Tool Integration: Experience connecting Jira with tools like Confluence (for automated Release Notes), Bitbucket/GitHub (for development info), and Slack.
• SCA/Quality Integration: Understanding of how to pull vulnerability data or test execution results into Jira issues for a holistic view of release readiness.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in a leadership-adjacent role, acting as a liaison between Department Heads and Module Leads.
• Certification as an Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP).
• Strong understanding of Agile and DevOps frameworks.
