High-Power SMPS / UPS Engineer (8 kW – 16 kW Systems)
Job Summary
Engineer specializing in high-capacity SMPS systems (8 kW to 16 kW range) responsible for installation, integration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support. The role supports telecom, data center, and industrial automation sectors, ensuring reliable and continuous power availability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Power Electronics & System Knowledge
- Strong understanding of AC-DC and DC-DC converters.
- Knowledge of various SMPS topologies (Forward, Flyback, Half-Bridge, Full-Bridge, etc.).
- Understanding of high-efficiency, high power-density industrial power supplies.
- Familiarity with protection mechanisms such as OVP, OCP, OTP, and short-circuit protection.
2. Installation & System Integration
- Installation and commissioning of high-capacity SMPS racks (8 kW / 16 kW).
- Integration of power supplies into telecom infrastructure, data centers, and industrial machinery.
- Experience with 3-phase input systems for high-power output configurations.
- Configuration of controllers for load sharing, battery management, and remote monitoring.
3. UPS Systems
- Experience with high-performance UPS systems (1 kVA to 10 kVA).
- Understanding of double-conversion UPS technology for critical applications.
- Knowledge of battery backup systems and high-capacity battery banks.
4. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform preventive maintenance and system health checks.
- Conduct voltage calibration, thermal inspection, and tightening of power connections.
- Diagnose and repair faults at module level (Rectifier / SMPS modules).
- Perform functional testing, reliability testing, and root cause analysis (RCA) of field failures.
5. Documentation & Technical Support
- Preparation of Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Development of test procedures and validation reports.
- Provide application and design support to customers and internal teams.
- Prepare service and technical reports.
Education & Experience
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in telecom power, data center power systems, or industrial power electronics.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Chennai, Tamil Nadu
