Job Purpose
To assist in the day-to-day execution of construction activities by supervising site works, coordinating labour and subcontractors, ensuring quality and safety compliance, monitoring material usage, and maintaining project documentation to achieve timely completion of the project.
Key Responsibilities1. Site Execution
- Supervise daily construction activities as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Ensure work is executed according to project schedules and quality standards.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants for smooth execution.
- Assist in setting out, measurements, and level checking.
- Monitor progress and report daily activities to the Project Engineer.
- Resolve minor site issues and escalate major concerns promptly.
2. Labour Management
- Plan and allocate daily work to skilled and unskilled labour.
- Monitor labour attendance, productivity, and discipline.
- Maintain daily labour attendance and manpower reports.
- Coordinate labour requirements with labour contractors.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower to avoid idle time.
- Brief labour teams on daily work targets and quality expectations.
- Monitor overtime and ensure proper approval procedures.
- Address labour grievances in coordination with the Project Engineer.
- Ensure labour welfare facilities are maintained at site.
- Verify labour bills and work quantities before certification.
3. Material Management
- Monitor daily material consumption.
- Raise material requisitions based on work progress.
- Verify delivered materials against purchase orders.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of construction materials.
- Reduce wastage through effective material control.
- Maintain material consumption records.
4. Quality Control
- Ensure work complies with approved drawings and specifications.
- Conduct regular quality inspections during execution.
- Identify defects and coordinate corrective actions.
- Assist in material inspections and testing.
- Maintain quality checklists and inspection records.
5. Safety Management
- Ensure compliance with site safety regulations.
- Conduct toolbox talks with labour teams.
- Ensure proper use of PPE by all workers.
- Report unsafe conditions immediately.
- Assist in accident prevention and emergency response activities.
6. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily progress reports.
- Maintain site diaries and work records.
- Record labour deployment and productivity.
- Assist in preparing measurement sheets and contractor bills.
- Maintain drawing revisions and site instructions.
- Update project progress photographs.
7. Coordination
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, and MEP teams.
- Attend site meetings and implement instructions.
- Assist senior engineers in resolving technical issues.
- Coordinate inspections and approvals.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Daily work completion as per plan.
- Labour productivity and efficient manpower utilization.
- Quality of completed works.
- Material wastage percentage.
- Compliance with project schedules.
- Number of quality defects requiring rework.

- Attendance and discipline of labour teams.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or B.Tech/B.E. in Civil Engineering.
- 0–3 years of site execution experience (Freshers may also apply).
Required Skills
- Knowledge of construction methods and site execution.
- Labour management and team coordination.
- Ability to read construction drawings.
- Quantity estimation and basic billing knowledge.
- Quality inspection techniques.
- Material planning and inventory control.
- Basic knowledge of safety practices.
- MS Excel, Word, and AutoCAD proficiency.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
Preferred Experience
- Residential villa or apartment construction projects.
- Experience in labour coordination and subcontractor management.
- Knowledge of RCC, masonry, plastering, waterproofing, finishing works, and MEP coordination.
- Familiarity with Kerala building practices and local regulations.
