Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive PPC Engineer with experience in the steel/manufacturing industry, preferably with hands-on knowledge of HR (Hot Rolled) Coils, steel sheets, and related steel products.
The candidate will be responsible for production planning and scheduling, material coordination, production monitoring, inventory planning, and ensuring the timely execution of customer orders. The role requires strong analytical skills, cross-functional coordination, and the ability to manage production priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer orders and delivery commitments.
- Develop production schedules considering machine capacity, manpower availability, raw material availability, and production lead times.
- Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Stores, Quality, Dispatch, and other relevant departments to ensure smooth production flow.
- Monitor the availability, consumption, and movement of HR Coils, steel sheets, and other raw materials.
- Plan material requirements and coordinate with the Purchase/Procurement team to ensure timely availability.
- Monitor actual production against planned production and identify delays, bottlenecks, and capacity constraints.
- Follow up with production teams to ensure orders are completed within the planned timelines.
- Optimize utilization of machinery, manpower, raw materials, and other production resources.
- Maintain and monitor production schedules, order status, material requirements, and inventory data.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly MIS reports, production reports, and planning dashboards.
- Analyze Plan vs. Actual Production and prepare variance reports with reasons for deviations.
- Coordinate with the Dispatch team to ensure finished goods are available as per customer delivery schedules.
- Track pending orders and communicate expected completion dates to concerned teams.
- Assist in minimizing material wastage, production losses, downtime, and excess inventory.
- Support production cost control and efficient utilization of raw materials.
- Maintain accurate PPC records and ensure timely updating of planning and production data.
- Identify opportunities for improving production efficiency, workflow, capacity utilization, and delivery performance.
- Ensure effective communication between the planning and manufacturing teams.
Required Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of Production Planning & Control (PPC) processes.
- Prior experience in steel manufacturing, steel processing, or steel-related manufacturing/trading operations.
- Good knowledge of HR (Hot Rolled) Coils, steel sheets, and related steel products.
- Understanding of steel specifications including thickness, width, length, weight, grade, and material consumption.
- Ability to plan production based on order priority, material availability, machine capacity, and delivery schedules.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel, including formulas, data analysis, production reports, and MIS preparation.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy in production and inventory data.
Qualification
Diploma / B.Tech / BE in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Production Engineering
- Metallurgical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- or a related engineering discipline.
Preferred Experience
1–5 years of relevant experience in PPC, Production Planning, Manufacturing Planning, or Production Coordination.
Experience in the Steel Industry, particularly involving HR Coils, steel sheets, coil processing, slitting, cut-to-length, fabrication, or related steel manufacturing/processing operations, will be preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be analytical, organized, proactive, and highly comfortable working with production data. The candidate should be capable of coordinating with multiple departments and taking timely follow-ups to ensure that production and customer delivery commitments are achieved.
Candidates with hands-on experience in steel coils/sheets and strong Excel-based production planning skills will be preferred.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
