Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial management, planning, reporting, fundraising, compliance, and risk-management functions of our real estate company.
The CFO will work closely with the Board, MD, CEO, project teams, banks, investors, auditors, consultants, and government authorities to ensure financial stability, profitable growth, effective capital allocation, and strong financial governance across all real estate projects. The role will cover project feasibility, construction finance, cash-flow management, budgeting, taxation, statutory compliance, investor relations, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Strategy and Leadership
Develop and implement the company’s short-term and long-term financial strategy.
Advise the Board, MD, and senior management on business expansion, investments, acquisitions, joint ventures, and project launches.
Prepare financial plans aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
Evaluate the financial impact of new projects, land acquisitions, redevelopment opportunities, and strategic partnerships.
Establish financial policies, procedures, controls, and performance standards.
2. Project Finance and Real Estate Analysis
Prepare and review financial feasibility studies for residential, commercial, plotted, mixed-use, and other real estate projects.
Develop project-wise financial models covering revenue, construction cost, land cost, funding requirements, profitability, cash flow, ROI, IRR, and break-even analysis.
Monitor project budgets against actual costs and investigate major variances.
Review project margins, sales velocity, inventory levels, construction progress, and collection efficiency.
Ensure that project milestones, funding requirements, sales targets, and cash flows are properly aligned.
Provide financial inputs for pricing, phasing, procurement, and project-launch decisions.
3. Budgeting, Forecasting, and Cash-Flow Management
Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting process.
Prepare project-wise, department-wise, and consolidated cash-flow forecasts.
Monitor collections from customers, vendor payments, construction expenses, statutory dues, and debt obligations.
Maintain adequate liquidity for land payments, construction activities, salaries, taxes, interest, and other business commitments.
Analyse actual performance against budgets and recommend corrective actions.
Improve working-capital management and cash conversion across projects.
4. Fundraising and Capital Management
Develop and manage the company’s capital structure, including equity, debt, project finance, private capital, and other funding arrangements.
Identify suitable financing opportunities for land acquisition, construction, working capital, and business expansion.
Lead negotiations with banks, NBFCs, private equity funds, financial institutions, investors, and strategic partners.
Prepare business plans, information memorandums, financial models, lender presentations, and investor reports.
Monitor loan utilisation, repayment schedules, interest costs, security documents, and financial covenants.
Maintain strong relationships with lenders, investors, and financial advisors.
5. Accounting and Financial Reporting
Oversee the complete finance and accounting function of the organisation.
Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Establish project-wise accounting, cost tracking, revenue monitoring, and profitability reporting.
Review management information reports and provide actionable financial insights to senior management.
Ensure accurate accounting for land, construction costs, customer advances, inventories, receivables, payables, loans, and project expenses.
Supervise consolidation of accounts for subsidiaries, special-purpose entities, joint ventures, and group companies, where applicable.
6. Statutory Compliance, Taxation, and Audit
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, Companies Act requirements, income-tax laws, GST regulations, and other statutory requirements.
Oversee direct and indirect tax planning, tax filings, assessments, notices, and tax audits.
Ensure compliance with applicable RERA-related financial requirements, project reporting, and separate account controls.
Coordinate with statutory auditors, internal auditors, tax consultants, legal advisors, and regulatory authorities.
Strengthen internal controls and ensure proper documentation of financial transactions.
Monitor compliance with lender, investor, joint-venture, and contractual obligations.
7. Risk Management and Internal Controls
Identify and manage financial, operational, credit, liquidity, interest-rate, project-cost, and regulatory risks.
Implement systems to prevent fraud, revenue leakage, unauthorised payments, and financial misappropriation.
Review insurance coverage for projects, properties, assets, employees, and business liabilities.
Develop approval matrices and controls for procurement, payments, contracts, investments, and capital expenditure.
Report major financial risks and proposed mitigation plans to the Board and senior management.
8. Project and Property Performance Monitoring
Monitor the financial performance of development projects and completed properties.
Review rental income, occupancy, maintenance expenses, operating costs, receivables, and asset-level profitability, where applicable.
Work with project, sales, marketing, procurement, legal, and property-management teams to improve financial performance.
Assess the financial viability of asset acquisition, refinancing, redevelopment, leasing, sale, or divestment opportunities.
Provide recommendations for improving project profitability and return on capital.
9. Team Management and Systems
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance, accounts, taxation, treasury, and MIS teams.
Define performance objectives and ensure effective manpower planning within the finance function.
Promote accuracy, accountability, confidentiality, and ethical financial practices.
Improve accounting systems, ERP processes, dashboards, MIS reporting, and financial automation.
Ensure proper data security, document control, and accessibility of financial information.
Required Qualifications
Chartered Accountant (CA) from ICAI is preferred.
A bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is required.
MBA in Finance, CFA, or another relevant professional qualification will be an advantage.
Strong knowledge of real estate finance, project accounting, taxation, financial modelling, and corporate finance.
Required Experience
Approximately 15–20 years of experience in finance and accounts, with significant experience in the real estate, infrastructure, construction, or property-development sector.
Experience in a senior finance position such as CFO, Finance Director, VP Finance, General Manager Finance, or Financial Controller.
Proven experience in project financing, fundraising, budgeting, financial reporting, audits, taxation, and cash-flow management.
Experience dealing with banks, NBFCs, investors, auditors, government authorities, and legal or financial consultants.
Experience handling multiple projects, group companies, joint ventures, or special-purpose entities will be preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary: ₹ 60 LACK per annum, depending on experience and suitability.
Performance-linked incentives may be offered based on company and individual performance.
Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per month
