Role Overview:
The Consultant – SAP HCM & Travel Management supports the delivery and continuous improvement of SAP HCM and Travel Management solutions. The role focuses on understanding business needs, configuring functional processes, managing support requests, and coordinating with business and technical teams to ensure effective solution delivery. It also supports testing, documentation, user guidance, and issue resolution across HCM, travel, payroll, finance, and related integration areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze business requirements related to SAP HCM and Travel Management processes and translate them into functional solutions.
- Configure, maintain, and support SAP HCM modules, including Personnel Administration, Organizational Management, Time Management, Payroll support, and related master data processes.
- Configure and support SAP Travel Management processes, including travel requests, travel expenses, approvals, reimbursements, travel policies, and integration with Finance where applicable.
- Support day-to-day functional issues, enhancement requests, configuration changes, and user inquiries related to SAP HCM and Travel Management.
- Prepare and maintain functional specifications, configuration documents, process flows, test scenarios, user guides, and support documentation.
- Coordinate with ABAP, Basis, Finance, Payroll, and integration teams for developments, reports, forms, workflows, authorizations, interfaces, and issue resolution.
- Support SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect analysis, and release validation for SAP HCM and Travel-related changes.
- Validate master data, organizational structures, employee records, time data, payroll-related inputs, and travel transaction data where required.
- Provide user guidance, training, and knowledge transfer to business users and internal team members.
- Manage assigned support tickets by investigating issues, identifying root causes, proposing solutions, and ensuring timely closure.
- Support integration between SAP HCM, Travel Management, FI/CO, Payroll, SuccessFactors, and other connected systems where applicable.
- Escalate risks, blockers, dependencies, and critical issues to senior consultants or project leads in a timely manner.
Profile Requirements:
Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in SAP HCM and/or SAP Travel Management implementation, rollout, support, or enhancement projects.
- Hands-on experience in SAP HCM functional support, configuration, testing, and issue analysis.
- Experience communicating with business users, understanding operational issues, and providing clear functional recommendations.
- Experience in core HCM areas such as Personnel Administration, Organizational Management, Time Management, employee master data, and payroll-related support.
- Experience in SAP Travel Management processes such as travel request, travel expense claim, approval workflow, reimbursement, and travel policy validation.
- Experience preparing functional specifications, configuration documents, test cases, process documentation, and user guides.
- Experience supporting SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect analysis, and business user coordination.
- Experience using ticketing or project management tools such as Jira, BMC Helix, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
- Exposure to SAP ECC HCM is required; exposure to SuccessFactors or SAP S/4HANA integration is considered an advantage.
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Mandatory Certifications:
- SAP Certified Associate – SAP HCM for SAP ECC or SAP HCM for SAP S/4HANA. SAP Certified Associate
- SAP HCM Payroll for SAP S/4HANA.
