The OT Technician is responsible for assisting surgeons, nurses, and anesthetists during surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining the operation theatre, handling surgical instruments, and ensuring infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain the operation theatre before, during, and after surgeries.
Arrange surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies required for procedures.
Assist surgeons, nurses, and anesthetists during operations.
Ensure proper sterilization, cleaning, and maintenance of surgical instruments and OT equipment.
Monitor OT supplies and report shortages of consumables and instruments.
Maintain aseptic and infection control protocols inside the OT.
Check functioning of OT equipment, monitors, lights, suction apparatus, and anesthesia machines before procedures.
Assist in patient positioning and safe transfer of patients.
Dispose biomedical waste according to hospital protocols.
Maintain OT records, registers, and documentation as required.
Coordinate with CSSD, nursing, and other departments for smooth OT functioning.
Ensure cleanliness and readiness of the operation theatre at all times.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Diploma / Degree in Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) or related field.
Minimum 1–2 years of experience preferred (freshers may apply as per hospital policy).
Knowledge of surgical instruments, sterilization techniques, and OT protocols.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
