Job Summary:
The Transport Incharge is responsible for managing the school's transportation operations, ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient movement of students and staff. The role involves supervising drivers and attendants, maintaining transport records, coordinating vehicle maintenance, ensuring compliance with transport regulations, and addressing parent and school transport-related concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operation of all school buses and transport services.
- Prepare and monitor bus routes, schedules, and vehicle allocation.
- Ensure the safe pick-up and drop-off of students as per approved routes.
- Supervise and manage school bus drivers, conductors/attendants, and transport support staff.
- Verify that all drivers possess valid driving licenses, badges, permits, and required certifications.
- Coordinate periodic servicing, repairs, fitness certificates, insurance renewals, pollution certificates (PUC), and other statutory compliance for all vehicles.
- Conduct regular inspections of buses to ensure cleanliness, safety, and roadworthiness.
- Maintain transport-related records, including vehicle logs, fuel consumption, maintenance history, driver attendance, and incident reports.
- Monitor GPS tracking systems and address delays or route deviations promptly.
- Handle transport-related complaints and queries from parents, staff, and school authorities professionally.
- Ensure strict adherence to school transport safety guidelines and government regulations.
- Organize emergency response procedures and coordinate during vehicle breakdowns or accidents.
- Conduct regular meetings and safety training for drivers and attendants.
- Coordinate transport requirements for school events, field trips, excursions, and special programs.
- Prepare transport-related reports and submit them to the school management.
- Monitor transport expenses and assist in cost optimization while maintaining service quality.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in any discipline.
- Additional qualification in Transport Management or Administration is an advantage.
- Valid knowledge of transport regulations and school safety norms.
Experience:
- 3–7 years of experience in transport operations or fleet management.
- Prior experience in a school or educational institution is preferred.
- Experience in supervising drivers and transport staff.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per hour
