Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist with strong expertise in Power BI testing and Microsoft Fabric migrations. This role is critical in ensuring data integrity, reliability, and performance across reporting and analytics platforms. The ideal candidate will combine front-end user testing skills (Power BI Service navigation, report usability validation, Playwright) with back-end data validation (SQL queries, pipeline testing, and semantic model validation).
Key Responsibilities
QA Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement QA strategies for data workflows, pipelines, and semantic models within Microsoft Fabric.
- Establish repeatable testing processes to validate data quality, consistency, and accuracy across Power BI reports and semantic models.
Testing & Validation
- Test Power BI Service functionality, including navigation, permissions, and user interactions.
- Validate report outputs and ensure consistency with underlying data sources.
- Query SQL databases to verify data accuracy, transformations, and performance.
- Compare legacy and modern data platform implementations to ensure equivalent functionality and results.
Automation & Documentation
- Design and maintain automated testing processes for data pipelines, semantic models, and integrations.
- Create and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and execution documentation.
- Track, analyze, and report quality metrics while ensuring agreed service levels for data quality and availability.
Collaboration & Issue Resolution
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Power BI Developers, Data Engineers, Data Modelers, and Governance teams to maintain high data quality standards.
- Perform root cause analysis for data and reporting issues and coordinate resolution efforts.
- Recommend improvements to QA processes, testing frameworks, methodologies, and tools.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in Power BI Service testing, including navigation, permissions, and report validation.
- Strong SQL skills for backend data validation and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, Lookups, and data comparison techniques.
- Strong understanding of data quality principles, including completeness, accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and Azure data platforms.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks for data pipelines and integrations.
- Experience defining, tracking, and reporting QA and data quality metrics.
- Excellent documentation skills for creating clear, repeatable, and maintainable test artifacts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience testing data migration projects involving Microsoft Fabric.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted testing frameworks and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices.
- Knowledge of Azure security, governance, and access management concepts.
- Experience performing root cause analysis for complex data and reporting issues.
- Exposure to Continuous Integration / Continuous Testing (CI/CT) practices.
- Experience using Playwright for front-end test automation.
Pay: ₹1,500,000.00 - ₹2,500,000.00 per year
