Job PurposeThe Business Operations Manager will act as the "behind-the-scenes conductor" for the entire group. This role is responsible for transforming a creative, fast-moving entrepreneurial setup into an organized, highly profitable multi-vertical ecosystem. Sitting at headquarters, this individual will use data, financial tracking, and workflow optimization to eliminate daily fire-fighting, protect cash flow, and ensure seamless coordination between design, factory manufacturing, and retail sales.Core Responsibilities1. Cross-Vertical Systems Coordination (Behind-the-Scenes)
- Establish Workflows: Architect and enforce simple, lean standard operating procedures (SOPs) for handoffs between verticals (e.g., Design Sign-off → Factory Production → Site Delivery).
- Enforce Transfer Pricing: Monitor and audit internal commercial to ensure each vertical operates as a true profit centre.
- Eliminate System Lag: Replace bureaucratic administration with nimble, real-time tracking tools (e.g., lightweight ERP, Airtable, or shared cloud systems) to keep the business agile.
2. Cash Flow Management & Margin Protection
- Milestone Acceleration: Map out active project timelines from HQ, identify billing bottlenecks, and direct the ground technical teams to clear them to trigger immediate client payments.
- Cost & Leakage Control: Take charge of the group's working capital cycle. Audit project estimates, verify material indents, and plug financial leakages before costs are incurred.
- Capacity Tracking: Monitor factory floor capacity data and project site operational data to ensure production / projects/ retails optimizes the revenues and profits
3. Data-Driven Accountability & Performance
- The "War Room" Dashboard: Build and maintain a central operational dashboard tracking critical business metrics (Runway, Stuck Cash, Project Delivery timelines, and Factory Margins, product development, coordination amongst verticals etc).
- Periodical Performance Reviews: Lead sharp, metric-focused weekly alignment meetings with your 20+ executive and technical staff. Hold teams accountable to budgets and delivery dates without needing to visit the field.
- MIS , Processes and Structured approach: Creating MIS formats, for every function, training, enforcing , monitoring and analysing the same. Structuring the whole business at micro level and making it a highly process driven organisation and ready for the future growth
Candidate Profile & Experience
- Experience: 5 to 9 years of proven experience in Business Operations, Management Consulting, or running operations for a fast-growing, mid-sized interior fit-out / modular manufacturing firm or startup.
- Education: MBA in Operations / Finance or a degree in Engineering/Business Management from a reputable institution.
- Technical Superpowers: Exceptional financial intelligence and analytical skills. Expert-level capability in building simple Google Sheets/Excel tracking models and onbaording/ implementing lightweight ERPs
- Working Style: Highly organized, objective, and metric-driven. Able to command respect from technical and creative heads using data and clear logical frameworks rather than hierarchy. Self driven, highly motivated to explore the full potential of the group business.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)The success of this role will be directly measured by:
- Cash Runway Expansion: Measurable increase in the company's survival runway through aggressive billing and collection management.
- Profit Centre Viability: Successful transition of all three verticals into transparent, self-sustaining, and profitable independent units.
- On-Time, In-Full (OTIF) Delivery: Reduction in project delays and internal cross-company order processing times.
- Reduction in Fire-Fighting: Decrease in operational bottlenecks landing on the Founder’s desk.
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
