Job Summary
The Neuro OT Technician is responsible for preparing and maintaining the neurosurgery operation theatre, assisting surgeons and anesthetists during neurosurgical procedures, handling specialized neurosurgical equipment, and ensuring adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols.
Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Operative Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up the Neuro OT before surgical procedures.
- Ensure availability and functionality of neurosurgical instruments and equipment.
- Check operating microscope, neuro-navigation systems, drills, cautery units, and monitoring devices.
- Sterilize and arrange surgical instruments as per procedure requirements.
- Verify patient details and assist in patient positioning as instructed by the surgical team.
- Maintain OT inventory and ensure adequate stock of consumables.
Intra-Operative Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff during neurosurgical procedures.
- Handle and pass instruments during surgery.
- Operate and troubleshoot OT equipment when required.
- Maintain sterile field throughout the procedure.
- Assist in specimen handling and documentation.
- Monitor equipment performance and immediately report malfunctions.
Post-Operative Responsibilities
- Assist in transferring patients safely from OT to recovery or ICU.
- Clean, disinfect, and prepare the OT for subsequent procedures.
- Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste according to regulations.
- Send instruments for sterilization and maintain records.
- Document equipment usage and maintenance requirements.

Qualification
- B.Sc. Operation Theatre Technology / B.Sc. Neuro Technology / Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology.
- Certification in OT techniques or neurosurgical assistance preferred.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in an Operation Theatre.
- Experience in Neurosurgery OT preferred.
Skills Required
- Knowledge of neurosurgical instruments and procedures.
- Understanding of sterilization and infection control practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and during emergencies.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and patient safety awareness.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for OT equipment.

- OT readiness before scheduled surgeries.

Working Conditions: Rotational shifts, emergency duties, on-call responsibilities, and extended working hours during complex neurosurgical procedures.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
