JOB DESCRIPTION – EDM OPERATOR

Position: EDM Operator / Wire Cut EDM Operator
Salary: ₹15,000 – ₹30,000 per month

Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and responsible EDM Operator to operate and maintain EDM/Wire Cut EDM machines for precision mould and tool manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and set up EDM / Wire Cut EDM machines.
- Read and understand engineering and mould drawings.
- Perform job setting, clamping, alignment and zero setting.
- Load and execute CNC/Wire Cut programs.
- Set and adjust machining parameters and offsets.
- Monitor machining operations and ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Inspect finished components using Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge and other measuring instruments.
- Maintain required surface finish and tolerances.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
- Monitor wire consumption, dielectric fluid and machine condition.
- Maintain daily production and inspection records.
- Follow production schedules, quality standards, 5S and safety procedures.
- Coordinate with the Tool Room, Production, Quality and Maintenance teams.
Qualification:
- ITI – Machinist / Turner / Fitter / Tool & Die Maker or
- Diploma in Mechanical / Production Engineering.
Experience:
- 0–5 years relevant experience preferred.
- Candidates with good Wire Cut EDM operating knowledge may also be considered.
Required Skills:
- Wire Cut EDM machine operation and setting.
- Basic CNC programming knowledge.
- Engineering/mould drawing reading.
- Knowledge of dimensions, tolerances and GD&T.
- Knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
- Basic machine troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Good attention to detail and quality awareness.
