About the Role
The Procurement & Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end procurement, warehouse fulfilment, and inventory management to ensure the timely and cost-effective supply of goods across the business. The role oversees local and international sourcing, including supplier management and imports from China to New Zealand, while driving spend analytics, vendor performance, inventory optimisation, and continuous process improvements to support operational efficiency and business growth.
KRAs
Strategic Procurement & Sourcing
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that deliver cost savings, operational efficiency, and supply continuity.
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities, from sourcing through to purchase order issuance and supplier performance monitoring.
- Conduct spend analysis to identify procurement trends, cost-saving opportunities, and supplier consolidation initiatives.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, and service level agreements with local and international suppliers.
- Monitor procurement budgets and support strategic cost-control initiatives.
International Procurement & Import Management
- Source products and identify reliable manufacturers and suppliers from international markets, particularly China and other Asia-Pacific countries.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Chinese vendors to ensure competitive pricing, product quality, and consistent supply.
- Coordinate import activities into New Zealand, including supplier communication, shipping schedules, freight forwarding, customs documentation, and delivery timelines.
- Work closely with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics partners to ensure smooth import operations and compliance with New Zealand import regulations.
- Monitor international market trends, freight costs, exchange rates, and supplier performance to optimise procurement decisions.
Vendor & Supplier Relationship Management
- Identify, evaluate, onboard, and manage domestic and international suppliers.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews based on quality, pricing, delivery, responsiveness, and compliance.
- Resolve supplier issues relating to quality, pricing, shortages, shipment delays, and product specifications.
- Develop long-term strategic partnerships with key suppliers to improve service levels and reduce procurement risks.
Warehouse Fulfilment & Inventory Management
- Oversee warehouse fulfilment operations to ensure timely receipt, storage, and distribution of inventory.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels across warehouses and multiple business locations to prevent stock shortages and excess inventory.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, stock transfers, and order fulfilment activities.
- Implement inventory control processes including cycle counts, stock reconciliations, and inventory audits.
- Monitor inventory movements, damaged goods, expiry dates, and obsolete stock while implementing corrective actions.
- Drive warehouse process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy, space utilisation, and operational efficiency.
Spend Analytics & Reporting
- Analyse procurement spend across categories, suppliers, and business units to identify savings opportunities.
- Develop procurement dashboards and KPI reports covering supplier performance, inventory turnover, procurement costs, and warehouse efficiency.
- Support budgeting, demand forecasting, and inventory planning through data-driven analysis.
- Recommend process improvements based on procurement and inventory analytics.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure procurement and warehouse operations comply with company policies, contractual obligations, and New Zealand regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation, supplier contracts, import records, purchase orders, invoices, and inventory records.
- Support internal and external audits through accurate record management and compliance reporting.
- Promote best practices in procurement governance, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Procurement, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or inventory management.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Experience managing warehouse inventory and stock control processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and inventory management software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹700,000.00 per year
