Area Sales Manager (ASM) drives revenue growth within a specific geographic territory by developing sales strategies, mentoring field reps, and building client relationships. They are responsible for meeting sales targets, analyzing market trends, and collaborating with marketing to boost brand awareness and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Target Achievement: Set and meet ambitious sales targets (ROIs, KPIs) for the assigned region.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, coach, and manage a team of field sales representatives to improve performance.
- Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and dealers.
- Market Strategy: Analyze competitor activity and market trends to develop actionable sales plans, say Betterteam and Taggd.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed sales forecasts, regional reports, and performance reviews for senior management.
- Operational Oversight: Monitor inventory levels, handle customer complaints, and ensure compliance with company policy
- Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience: Proven experience (usually 3–5+ years) as an Area Sales Manager, Field Sales Representative, or similar role, note
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Leadership: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Technical Skills: Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite. Mobility: Ability to travel frequently within the assigned region.
